IT TOOK a feisty kelpie to match Paul Mackle with his future wife, Pam.

A regular runner at a Parkville sports ground, one day Paul was pursued by an excitable kelpie.

"This dog kept coming and chasing me. It happened for two weeks straight," he said. "The dog's owner turned out to be pretty cute, so I thought, 'I'm going to ask her out for a drink'."
